BCBlur (“the extension”) is built privacy-first. It is designed so that your data never leaves your device.
Nothing. BCBlur does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. We have no user accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.
All blurring happens locally in your browser. The extension reads and modifies only the visible content of the page you are actively working on, in order to blur or redact what you choose. It makes no network requests, you can open your browser’s Network tab and confirm zero requests.
Your preferences (blur intensity, smart-blur settings) and the blurs you create on a page are saved only on your own device using the browser’s local extension storage. This data is never sent anywhere and is removed if you uninstall the extension.
BCBlur requests the minimum permissions needed to function:
BCBlur shares no data with any third party, because it collects none.
BCBlur collects no data from anyone, including children.
